Stanley Vono was always destined to be an artist, as he comes from a family of artisans. Vono is the uncle of world-renowned sculptor Dominic Benhura.

A native of Harare, Vono has sculpted for his entire life. He has tried several times to change careers, but always finds himself drawn back to sculpture.
